NRL
Rule Editor
The NRL Rule Editor is used by data modelers,
technically aware analysts, or sometimes developers, to express
validation rules or action rules against their models. This enables
them to come up with a precise specification for their system that
serves both as documentation and is
executable.
The
editor provides the following features:
- Model-aware editing of NRL rules
- Context-sensitive editing:
"auto-complete" is available even in broken or malformed rules
- Incremental validation when files
are saved
- Management
of NRL "operators", which are extensions used to perform
complex calculations or call out to third-party systems
- Model
support: UML and XML Schema
- Model caching: any model or
operator changes trigger revalidation
- Web export of rules: see the FpML® business rules as
an
example
Requirements and deployment:
- The
editor plugs into Eclipse version 3.2 or higher
- IBM
Rational® EMX model files are supported
- Java 1.5+
is required for the user interface
